The fate of Elmvale District High School is being discussed by the Simcoe County District School Board and the communities served by the High School.

Meetings attended by hundreds representing the service area of this school have all endorsed the need for

A new school constructed on the present location.

The following information located under "History" reflect my own views as on administrator for 30 years within Simcoe County as well as a resident and community leader in Elmvale for 38 years.

I believe the views that follow also reflect the ideas expressed by those who attended the meetings held to save the high school.

We are a rural population that fears that the culture and traditions that have made this such an inviting place to live will be lost if our youth are bussed to some location beyond the rural basin in which we live. Elmvale District High School is the only secondary school in Springwater Township.

We need your help...

  • to keep our school
  • to continue our traditions of excellence in education
  • to strengthen our commitment to enhancing rural life in our agricultural basin
