EDHSC is a member of the EDHS family who strive for the highest academic, physical, social and spiritual goals. By working co-operatively to be the best that we an be on a daily basis, we will enrich ourselves, our school and our community. The council is a not for profit organization that strives to encourage parents, students, staff and the community to enhance the quality of the EDHS experience.  The council functions in accordance with the Ministry Regulation 612/00 and SCDSB policy 4310.

EDHSC will strive to:

  • support the school’s mission and goals
  • encourage parents, students, staff and the community to work together to share information, increase community and parental involvement in the school and enhance student learning
  • recognize the diversity of the school populations and community and to encourage and support active participation by all and to
  • establish and maintain contact with any other Parent or Home and School Association in the school, with other School Councils and with board committees and the Ministry as they apply to school councils and more specifically to EDHS

Membership:

Will be in accordance with Regulation 612/00 and SCDSB Admin Procedure Memorandum #13

  • A maximum of 10 parents/guardians of student in attendance at EDHS
  • The school principal
  • one non-teaching staff member of the school, elected by the non-teaching staff
  • one teaching member of the school, elected by the teaching staff
  • one student representative ,elected by the students of the school
  • one community representative, appointed by the Council
